Ayurvedic Lifestyle Consultant Certification, (ALC) provided by International University of Yoga and Ayurveda, Florida, USA. This training program is based on the guidelines of the World Health Organization (WHO) Benchmarks for training in traditional / complementary and alternative medicine: benchmarks for training in Ayurveda & Government of India, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Department of Ayurveda, Yoga, Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy (AYUSH), New Delhi, India. (Reference Number: D.O. NO. 480 /Adviser (Ayurveda) / 2009, May 1st, 2009).

 

Ayurveda is the sister science of yoga and literally means science of life. It is an approach to living in harmony with the universe, the seasons, and nature in order to achieve optimum health. Developed around 1500 BC, this ancient science is built on solid theoretical and experiential foundations, which provide a profound understanding of the physical and biological laws that govern human physiology.


The Ayurvedic Lifestyle Consultant (ALC) Certification Program is a 250 hour course, divided into six weekends, which take place over a period of 9 months and include classroom training and home study.


This course is offered as a precursor to advanced training in our Certified Ayurvedic Practitioner (CAP).


This program will provide 100 hours of classroom training, 20 hours of webinar instruction, and 130 hours of home study, quizzes, assignments, and projects, complying with the requirements.


This certification is most beneficial to Health Coaches, Health Professionals and Yoga Teachers interested in deepening their own practice or to move towards Yoga Therapy.   


This will also benefit individuals who want to take charge of their own health.  


Upon completion of this certification course, participants will - 


  • Know the basic principles of Ayurveda and how to apply these principles and practices to their own lives.
  • Be able to make recommendations to clients regarding modifications in their lifestyles, exercise routines, yoga practices and nutrition according to their individual constitutions to restore balance to their lives.
  • Be eligible to apply these credits toward the upcoming Certified Ayurvedic Practitioner (CAP) (CAP requires a total of 1000 hours of Ayurvedic study and a clinical internship in India).
  • Be eligible to apply these credits toward becoming a Registered Ayurvedic Lifestyle Consultant by NAMA (National Ayurvedic Medical Association).  Be eligible to apply Ayurvedic Training towards Yoga Therapy Certification as determined by International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT).
